My name is Mariam Sow, I currently studying an International Business Management degree at Goldsmiths University of London and for the past 3 years I have being running my own cleaning company in the UK, of which 15% of profits go to charity in Guinea of helping to fund sexual health clinics for young girls.
The real motivation for supporting the sexual health clinics came from when I found out 20% of all maternal deaths were young children between 15- 19 years old girls. Due to pregnancy-induced, hypertension, infection, and unsafe abortions. Indirect causes include anaemia and malaria during pregnancy.
Love and support from family and friends, has made me realise my passion lies in media presenting / hosting. Seeing how media has a massive impact on society and all over the world. Through the power of media I believe I can make a huge difference and have my voice be heard. Coming from a deprive family and poverty all around me has speared my love for humanity and helping others, especially my home town of Guinea Conakry-Mamou.
Being on the platform with Amaze TV and knowing that Amaze TV is all about everyone’s voice to be heard, it’s clear to say that this is going to be an amazing journey and a big opportunity to make the dream come true.
